We understand that you face your own set of unique challenges. Therefore, we work with an integrative approach, tailoring our treatment to your individual needs.
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Individual therapy at Defining You is a process through which clients work one-on-one with our therapists in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. During individual therapy, concerns such as stress management, depression, anxiety, and other challenges are explored and addressed. The purpose of individual therapy can include identifying aspects of your life that you would like to change, better understanding yourself and others, setting personal goals, and working toward desired change.
PLAY THERAPY
Children require therapy that honors their unique developmental level and looks for ways of helping in the “language” of the child – play. A safe relationship must be created between the therapist and client, where the child may freely and naturally express both what pleases and bothers them. At Defining You, we use play to help our child clients better express themselves and solve their problems.
FAMILY THERAPY
Family therapy is designed to address specific issues affecting the health and functioning of a family, as individuals do not exist in a vacuum. Issues addressed in family therapy can include adjusting to a major transition, helping improve family relationships, or working though a mental or behavioral health problem of a family member.
LLPC Supervision
Defining You offers virtual and in-person clinical supervision for LLPCs in the state of Michigan. We offer expertise for those new counselors who are looking to specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as families who present with a variety of challenges.
